Dear Fellow Peruvian Horse Aficionado,
It’s with great pleasure and pride that I am writing to you about an event that has been a dream of mine for over two years: the International Conference of the Peruvian Horse, May 23-25, 2008 in the Santa Ynez Valley, California. As a child in Peru, I spent endless hours listening to my father and his friends discuss horses, sharing their experiences and knowledge with one another. It was about the horse and nothing else.
It seems that no matter where I go in the world, if the topic of Peruvian Horses comes up, endless hours of conversation certainly follow. It’s a legacy that has been carried through the generations – a love and passion for this amazing horse. With approximately 40,000 Peruvian Horses in the world and many breeders, owners, trainers and riders to share their experiences, why not create a conference to share, learn and inspire other aficionados?
The International Conference of the Peruvian Horse is exactly that. A variety of speakers have been invited from both North and South America to discuss topics such as breed standards, selection of breeding stock, judging criteria, hoof care and horse management. Speakers were selected to represent not only top experts in their fields, but also different perspectives to incite discussion and debate.
Registration for the three-day event is very reasonable: only $150 for adults and $75 for Juniors. A variety of hotels are nearby as well as wineries and other attractions of the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley and Santa Barbara.
We hope you join us May 23-25, 2008 at the first-ever International Conference of the Peruvian Horse.
